New Post alert! Our 4th of july miracleCheck out our Yahoo360 site about our true little miracle AJ..and some pictures.... TJ's 9th BirthdayYesterday was TJr's 9th birthday. We brought in doughnuts for his class that he could share. We also went to play arcade games with 2 of his friends and our whole clan. That was fun. They went through 50 tokens in about 20 minutes. :) We then had a familly birthday for him. We got him a Pokemon Ruby game for his Gameboy SP, and star wars game that hooks into the TV, and play gun that he is always talking about, and then another board game for those rainy days that we seem to be alot around her recently. Lots of Fun. We had a ice cream cake for him and put trick candles on his cake that would not blow out. He loved them. Overall it was a great birthday for TJ. I have upload a recent picture of TJ. I will upload some of his birthday pics when I get them off my camera. :) Well that is all for now. -Kari New Post alert!Ok so we are using the 360 site...sorry MSN. Check out our post. The world of many kidsLets see...what has been happening in March. 2 birthdays (Ethan turned 10, Sydney turned 7), 3 different soccer practices during the week, 3 different soccer games on Saturday, Scouts, tons of homework each day, lot of running, lots of love and fun. Yes you can say the Vastbinders are busy! That is an understatement to say the least. Our recent weekend project has been digging out a 15 ft round hole 4 feet deep so we can sink our trampoline into the ground. Woohoo...what a projects its turned out to be. Our whole backyard is a mound of dirt. Oh yes, our boys are loving it. We rented a Kabota from home depot for 2 days to help dig the hole, James is in heaven. Our house looks like a mud feast, our kids have been so dirty the bathtub had a ring around it, but boy they are all in Heaven and having a great time. Her are some pictures from our dig feast this weekend. My Ducati .....So here is a shot of my Ducati 750 SS. I love this toy, I took it for a ride today when I went to visit an ISV in Seattle. Had a college student almost hit since she wasn't paying attention when she moved into my lane....
How about a bout of Pink eye to make your week!Well the title says it all! You got it! Everyone in the family got Pink Eye except Ethan and Taylor. That is not even half to drama. Their is always drama in the Vastbinder household. The 5 that got pink eye piled into the car on friday and headed to the doctors to get our prescription to get rid of the dreaded red eye. I go to walmart to pick up the prescription, and they did not have it. The pharmacist called all the Pharmacies in town and no one had it, so they said that they would order it and they would have it on monday. Ok friday thru monday, we all sat red eyed stuck to our house. Well monday rolls around and I go to Walmart to pick up the prescription and they say that they couldn't order it and that they would call the doc to get a different prescription. By that point I was really red eyed mad (literally) HE. Well finally atg 8:30 pm last night we all got to get our first drops of antibiotics in our very tender eyes. If that isn't drama then what is. HE HE
Besides the pink eye episode, the vastbinder fam is doing great. I will update again in a few days. chao!

Finally no rain!Ok it was almost 30 days of consistent rain and now it has stopped and the sun is shining! YEAH. The kids having been running off their energy playing football at the park and riding bikes around the neighborhood.
Today as you can see is Valentines day.
Jim and I indulged ourselves this year and bought a Hot Tub. It is awesome! It actually has been helping us out with training for our 1/2 marathan in June. By the time James is done running his 13 miles he needs to soak so his legs don't cramp up. Me, I am just running only 4 miles a day so far and hope to even be close to making the 1/2 marathan by June!. Well That all for now.
Have a fun Holiday and spring! It's been a while......Well Christmas is over, the tree is down, and everything is starting to get back to normal. Life is as busy as ever w/ a family of 7. The 3 older kids are back to school, Caleb just started preschool last week, and Aidan is hanging out with mom.
Well some exciting news in the household. Karis' brother Shawn just got a job with the Washington Dept. of Transportation and will be moving up to Seattle in May. Karis' Sister Amy is pregnant with her 5th child, and Jims' little sister Sue and her husband will be moving out West to live Near St. George, UT. Lots of family starting to come around. We are so excited to finally have more family around.
On another good note, Jim and Kari have been on a weight loss program, Jim has lost 17 lbs and Kari has lost 14 lbs. Still have a ways to go but both are not giving up because we are training for our 1/2 marathan that we plan to do in St George Ut in October.
Well that is all the goings in the Vastbinder home. Here are some new pictures to share with you.
-kari Sydney school Christmas ProgramSydney had her school christmas program last night. She was great!. They sangs songs like: "My two front teeth", "We Wish you a Merry Christmas", and even had a Christmas song at the end that was to the tune of the Macorana (sp). I need to upload the pictures from last night last today so check back if you don't see photos. I will also upload a video clip of it to.
-kari Calebs 5th BirthdayCaleb had his 5th birthday yesterday at Chuck E Cheese. Caleb and 8 of his little friend has a blast. Here are some pics:
Boarding over the weekendSo we went boarding over the weekend on Saturday. Now it wouldn't be the Vastbinder household if we didn't have a complication, turns out we lost the keys to our suburban the night before. So we didn't get out of the house until around Noon.... I can chuckle now, but I stayed up until 3AM looking for the keys.
Once at the slopes, the snow was a hard-packed powder and very smooth. Ethan worked on toe-side turns and I worked to help everyone learn to snowboard. Taylor is slowly getting better, he needs a little coaxing to head up the lift though. Even Sydney and Caleb clicked into snowboards carved up the bunny slopes.
We didn't get home until around 7pm and by then I didn't feel like studying which has put me behind in my schoolwork.
-james 50 inches of snowSo the ski slopes on WA now have more than 50 inches of snow and I'm having a hard time exercising restraint and not heading to the slopes before the weekend. If we didn't have a company Christmas party tonight we'd be headed up tonight.
Now I'm not the best boarder, but I can turn in both directions fairly well which from what I've seen puts me about the middle of the pack on the slopes. I still haven't figured out how to get off the lift, I fall about 40% of the time. It's as we approach the top of the hill I start to feel my chest constrict a little with anxiety and question my decision to switch to boarding....
Kari wanted me to add, that she has never made it off the lift without crashing. She says she'll take any sympathy she can get... LOL
